One person dead following head-on crash on Highway 97 near Monte Lake: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — Vernon North Okanagan RCMP confirm one fatality following a head-on crash on Highway 97 near Monte Lake Monday (June 19) morning.
In a news release, police say a small Hyundai vehicle travelling west on Highway 97 crossed the centre line of the road and into oncoming traffic, colliding with a pickup truck towing a trailer. Police say the driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene while the occupants of the pickup truck were sent to hospital with minor injuries.
RCMP say first responders were notified of the crash in the 3000-block of Highway 97 at around 10:00 a.m. Monday. DriveBC said traffic resumed via single-lane alternating at around 2:00 p.m.
