RCMP investigating serious crash near Monte Lake

MONTE LAKE, B.C. — UPDATE (2:20): Drive BC says traffic is now getting through.

EARLIER: RCMP are confirming a serious crash near Monte Lake Monday morning (June 19).

Details are scant, but Cst. Mike Moore of B.C. Highway Patrol says members are investigating a crash near Highway 97 at Barnhartvale Road.

The highway is closed in both directions at that spot.

Moore says there is no estimated time when the route may re-open.
