KAMLOOPS — The annual Move to Cure ALS fundraiser brought out supporters in both Kamloops and Merritt Saturday morning (June 17).

ALS Society of B.C. Wendy Toyer tells CFJC Today about 100 people gathered for the walk at Riverside Park. At the same, another 80 people participated in Merritt. Together, they raised almost $21,000.

“Today was really about people coming together, sharing the love and supporting each other,” said Toyer. “We had people who are currently living with ALS and we had families who have lost friends and family to ALS.”

The funds raised will be split between the ALS Society’s patient service programs (60 per cent) and research initiatives at the University of British Columbia through Project HOPE (40 per cent).
