EDMONTON — It was an afternoon affair for the Kamloops NorthPaws and Edmonton Riverhawks in game two of their three game set in the City of Champions, with ‘Paws using a 4-run eighth inning to claim their third win of the season, 8-4.

Kamloops native Tyrelle Chadwick got the starting assignment, pitching five innings of 4-hit, 3-run ball. The Riverhawks were able to tag up Chadwick with a pair of runs in the first and a single run in the second before he settled down.

The eighth inning would be the turning point in the contest as the game was 3-3 before Kamloops came up to bat. The ‘Paws would send nine men to the plate, in an inning which saw three different Riverhawk pitchers toe the rubber. Second baseman Copper Neville had the big hit in the inning with a bases-loaded double that scored a pair of runs.

Matthew Romero was the winning pitcher for Kamloops, throwing four innings of 1-run ball in relief of Chadwick.
