Director looking for Thompson-Nicola recruits for ‘Galactic Earthworms’ movie

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents and earthworms who are interested in working in the film industry are being told of a meet-and-greet with a company planning a local film production.
In a news release, the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission (TNFC) says the crew behind Lupe Q and the Galactic Earthworms is looking to hire as many local film staff as possible ahead of filming within the Thompson-Nicola region in August.
Director Javier Badillo will discuss the upcoming film and answer questions. The TNFC says he is a writer, director and producer of Venezuelan and Canadian descent, and his first feature film Roads of Ithriyah was filmed in the Kamloops area.
“We have been working with Javier since February, identifying potential locations that could work for this incredibly fun script,” said Terri Hadwin, TNFC Film Commissioner.
