KAMLOOPS — Last year Kamloops was able to raise nearly $15,000 for diabetes research through the 2022 JDRF Walk. This year’s walk will take place at the BC Wildlife Park with the goal of surpassing the 2022 total.

This year’s walk kicks of at 10:00 A.M. Sunday June 11. Along with the walk, the family friendly event will include bounce house, face painting, tattoo booth, games and prizes.

“Although the focus was and remains finding cures for type 1 diabetes; since then, JDRF has helped fund research that has led to innovation and evolution of treatments that improve the quality of life for people living with T1D,” reads the JDRF Canada website.

“JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s vision is to achieve a world without T1D and to turn type 1 into type none. We are the largest non-profit funder of T1D research in the world, with a mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.”
