Slashing attack in downtown Kamloops sends man to hospital
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are asking for video footage and witness statements after a slashing attack downtown.
In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to the incident in the 400-block of Lansdowne Street at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday (June 7). A person at the scene had been heard yelling for someone to call 911.
Upon arrival, RCMP officers found an injured man who reported he had been slashed with a weapon.
“The victim allegedly got into an argument with another man in an alleyway between 4th and 5th avenues, just prior to the assault,” said Evelyn. The man then ran toward the street and called for help.
