VIDEO: Fire breaks out at Valleyview recycling plant

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (12:45 p.m.): Kamloops Fire Rescue says the fire has been contained.

EARLIER: Kamloops Fire Rescue crews rushed to a fire at a recycling plant in Valleyview Tuesday morning (June 6).

At about 11:15 a.m., flames broke out in baled cardboard outside of Emterra Environmental on Kelly Douglas Road.

KFR crews arriving on scene noted the building had been evacuated and requested rail traffic be shut down on the nearby CPKC tracks. Firefighters also noted the fire was spreading into nearby grass.
