Alcohol impairment believed to have been a factor in Westsyde Road crash Saturday: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a driver who crashed an SUV on Westsyde Road Saturday evening (June 3) appears to have been impaired.

In a news release, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police were called to the area of Westsyde Road and Ord Road at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

A grey SUV had collided with a hillside at that location after nearly hitting another vehicle at the intersection.

RCMP located the two occupants not far away and arrested them.

Evelyn says the driver was taken to the RCMP detachment to provide breath samples, blowing above .08 twice.
