As Kamloops training camp concludes, Lions brass mulls final cuts
KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Lions returned to work for one last time in the Tournament Capital Tuesday morning (May 30) as the team prepares for the regular season. The club is coming off a 30-27 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders over the weekend.
“Of course, you always want to win but that wasn’t the primary goal,” Head Coach and Co-GM Rick Campbell told CFJC Today. “The goal was to make sure we evaluate people and see how they function and also compete. I’m happy with the work that we got done in Regina and now we’re gonna take the next step and play Calgary at home and just looking to improve.”
With one more pre-season game at hand, the Lions continue to make cuts. Releasing 13 from the training camp roster Monday (May 29). One individual who’s trying to prevent himself from being added to that list of cuts is wide receiver Ayden Eberhardt, who caught six passes for 104 yards in Saturday’s contest.
