Peterborough and Quebec join Seattle and Kamloops for Memorial Cup tournament
KAMLOOPS — The four teams that will compete in the 2023 Memorial Cup tournament in Kamloops have been determined. The Peterborough Petes and Quebec Remparts clinched the OHL and QMJHL championships respectively Sunday (May 21).
In Peterborough, Tucker Robertson’s goal at 11:10 of the third period snapped a 1-1 deadlock and lifted the Petes to a 2-1 victory over the London Knights.
Robertson, who also assisted on Avery Hayes’ opening goal, gave the Petes a 4-2 victory in the OHL’s best-of-seven Championship Series.
Meantime in Halifax, the Remparts pulled off a late comeback to beat the Halifax Mooseheads 5-4 to win the best-of-seven QMJHL Championship Series in six games.
