Four people sent to hospital after vehicle incident on Highway 5 north of Barriere

BARRIERE, B.C. — Four patients were sent to hospital Saturday (May 20) night after a vehicle incident north of Barriere.

BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) confirmed they received the call from Highway 5 at McDougall Road north of Barriere at around 8:15 p.m., and seven units responded.

EHS says two patients were in critical condition while two were stable.

DriveBC initially reported that Highway 5 north of Barriere was closed at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and didn’t reopen until 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

CFJC Today has contacted Barriere RCMP and the BC Coroners Service for further information.
