Commercial traffic safety campaign winds up in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Commercial traffic entering and exiting Kamloops has been subject to close examination this week as part of an international road-check program. Certified commercial vehicle inspectors are conducting the road-checks at the weigh scales on the western edge of the city.

The program is being led by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, an organization that works to improve commercial vehicle safety across North America. The three-day road check, which wraps up Thursday (May 18), is being staged in different locations across the continent this week.

Inspectors are focussing on anti-lock braking systems and cargo securement however all areas of the vehicle are being inspected.
