UPDATE 7:30 p.m. CACHE CREEK — The Stage Four Water Advisory has been lifted by emergency officials.

CACHE CREEK — The Village of Cache Creek has issued a Boil Water Advisory to residents of the community due to ongoing flooding problems. The Advisory impacts all homes in the community and will remain in place until further notice.

The community announced it would be repairing a water main damaged by flood waters Saturday (May 13) morning. It suggested residents should be prepared to be without drinking water for several hours.

However Saturday at 2:45 p.m., it issued the Boil Water Advisory and issued a Stage Four Water Advisory. That means water is severely limited and should only be used for essential needs. The watering of lawns or use in a swimming pool is not allowed.

Under a Boil Water Advisory residents will need to boil water vigorously for at least one minute before consuming it or using it for food preparation. Residents should consider using bottled water instead. And they should discard all ice cubes that were made prior to the advisory being issued.

Cache Creek has been dealing with high water for more than a week. The first water problems began when the smaller Cache Creek spilled its banks and then later when the Bonaparte River began to rise.

Meantime the Village of Cache Creek has extended its Local Stage of Emergency which was set to expire over the weekend.
