Emergency Services Day in Kamloops draws crowds, honoring first responders across British Columbia
KAMLOOPS — Emergency services personnel across British Columbia were honored on Saturday (May 6) as communities came together to recognize their unwavering dedication and sacrifices made in the line of duty. Just outside Sandman Centre, attendees and specialty vehicles filled the lot.
The annual Emergency Services Day celebration is a time to show appreciation for the men and women who serve in roles such as RCMP members, conservation officers, natural resource officers, firefighters, paramedics, cadets, forestry officers, search and rescue teams, and crisis workers.
Cst. Dana Napier with Kamloops RCMP community policing explained why the event is important.
