CHASE, B.C. — Six days you shall blast the highway, but the seventh day is for rest.

DriveBC says starting Thursday (May 4) and lasting until Sept. 1, crews will work on planned blasting in both directions on Highway 1 through the Village of Chase Mondays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Drivers are asked to watch for traffic control personnel, and to expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

The work is part of the B.C. government’s project of four-laning Highway 1 from Kamloops to the Alberta border. The province says construction in the eastern portion of Chase is scheduled to be completed this fall.
