Kamloops RCMP searching for wanted sex assault suspect

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (May 4): RCMP say Joel Carlson was in custody when the release was issued and he remains in custody now.
EARLIER: Kamloops RCMP are asking the public’s help in finding a sex assault suspect.
In a news release issued Wednesday (May 3), police say 30-year-old Joel Eric Carlson is wanted on an unendorsed warrant for six counts of breach of release order. He was previously charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement after Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP investigated the sexual assault of a teenager.
Carlson is described as a white man standing 6’2” and weighing 221 lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
