Manner in which body was found in Kamloops dumpster deemed suspicious: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP have released a brief update on the investigation into the death of Gregory Hamilton. While the cause of death is still under investigation at this time, the discovery of his body has been deemed suspicious by detectives.

“The circumstances are suspicious surrounding the manner in which he was discovered,” said Sgt. Nestor Baird of the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit. “We are continuing to work with the BC Coroners Service to determine an exact cause of death.”

Gregory “Troy” Hamilton, who also went by the alias of Troy Hamilton and the nickname ‘Monster’, was located deceased in a dumpster between two buildings on the 1900-block of Curlew Drive around 11:30 p.m., Thursday (April 20).

Members of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Serious Crime Unit, General Investigation Support Team, Forensic Identification Services Unit, and Frontline Officers are involved in the investigation and continue their appeal to the public for information and video to help timeline Troy Hamilton’s last movements.
