Kamloops breaks heat records, becomes Canada’s hottest city.
KAMLOOPS — On saturday. A high of thirty one degrees was recorded at the Kamloops Airport on saturday, making it the hottest place in Canada that day.
Kamloops shattered its old record of 28.3ºC set in 1957, where the Kamloops airport read in at a high of 31.6ºC degrees today.
The sand bars lining the North Shore and Riverside park were filled with towels, and umbrellas, as beachgoers got out of the heat and into the water, getting an early start to their summer.
This marks the first time that Kamloops has broken the thirty-degree barrier this year, the second time for all of Canada, following the Mid-April Ontario heatwave.
