KAMLOOPS — A thrilling USports National Championship victory dominated the night at the Hall of Fame Banquet and Kamloops Sports Council Athletic Awards Saturday (Apr. 29) at Thompson Rivers University.
On a chilly Sunday afternoon in late November, the TRU Wolfpack mens soccer team scored a stunning 2-1 shootout win over the UBC Thunderbirds to win the school’s first national sports title.
Coach John Antulov was recognized as the Coach of the Year by the Kamloops Sports Council. Keeper Jackson Gardner was recognized as a force in net and named the University Athlete of the Year. And the team was recognized as the Team of the Year.
