Kamloops man charged with assaulting a police officer
KAMLOOPS β A 36-year-old Kamloops man is being held in custody after a bizarre incident Saturday night in the 400-block of Seymour Street.
In a news release, RCMP say officers responded to a call around 10:40 p.m. With his pants down, a man was screaming and banging on a glass door in front of a building.
The officer arrested the man and attempted to take him into custody. However, police allege the man turned on the officer and assaulted her and eventually broke free. More officers arrived, found the suspect and took him into custody.
Kamloops RCMP Corporal Crystal Evelyn said, βThe victim officer was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.β
