Body found in Valleyview dumpster; RCMP looking to determine if death was suspicious

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are trying to determine whether the death of a person whose body was found in a Valleyview dumpster last night was suspicious.

Friday morning, Mounties continued to work at the dumpster site in the parking lot of Curlew Apartments, located at 1950, 1956 and 1962 Curlew Road.

In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to the 1900-block of Curlew Road at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday (April 20). Attending Mounties confirmed the presence of a body in the dumpster.

Investigators are now collecting physical evidence and gathering statements. They are also looking for video, images and witness accounts.

“A police presence remains on scene and in the area while officers work to determine whether the death is suspicious,” said Evelyn.
