RCMP look to identify suspect in North Shore stabbing

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for the public’s help as they investigate a stabbing on the Kamloops North Shore.

Detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the stabbing took place last Saturday (April 15) in the 400-block of Tranquille Road. At about 5:18 p.m., RCMP were called to the victim’s location, about a block away.

The man was suffering from stab wounds and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“As part of the ongoing investigation, police have obtained security video from the 400-block of Tranquille Road where the assault occurred, which includes an image of the suspect,” said Evelyn. “The assault was very deliberate and direct, and numerous people were present to witness while it occurred. We are requesting they contact police as soon as possible to discuss what transpired.”

Suspect description:

  • Male
  • Larger build
  • About 6′ tall

Clothing description:

  • Dark jacket with a blue or purple logo on the back
  • Ball cap under the hood of the jacket
  • Drawstring bag on his back
  • Blue and black duffel bag
  • White or beige face mask
  • White Nike shoes with a black stripe on the back

Businesspeople and homeowners in the area are asked to check their surveillance footage to see if the suspect appears.
