SD73 unveils Pineview school architect, establishes engagement committee

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops-Thompson School District will partner with a familiar name to design a new elementary school in Pineview Valley.

This week, the district announced Station One Architects will come up with the concept for the school, which is slated to begin construction in spring 2024.

Station One designed the recently completed Valleyview Secondary expansion and the new Parkcrest Elementary School, which is under construction.

In addition, the district has established a committee to help shape the school. The Pineview Valley Community Engagement Committee was formally established at the Board of Education meeting on Monday (April 17).

In a news release, the district says the committee will be comprised of staff, parents and community members, and will “meet to review early designs of the school and to provide input into the educational value of certain design features.”
