Petition to save Thompson Region Family Obstetrics clinic presented in B.C. legislature

VICTORIA — A petition intended to raise awareness of the plight of the Thompson Region Family Obstetrics (TRFO) clinic has been presented in the B.C. legislature.
The petition was launched by Kamloops resident Amanda Yaschuk and contains 4,307 signatures.
Shortly after question period wrapped up Monday afternoon (April 17), Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Peter Milobar officially presented the document to the legislature clerk.
“This clinic is slated to close later this year, leaving more than 300 women in Kamloops and area without prenatal care and we’ll have well over 700 in 2024 if staffing issues are not solved to keep this vital clinic open,” said Milobar.
