Thompson-Nicola Regional Library receives $500,000+ boost in provincial funding

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL) received a $533,569 grant from B.C.’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Public Libraries Branch.

In a news release issued Tuesday (April 11) morning, the TNRL says it’s part of one-time funding of $45 million by the B.C. government that is shared between all 71 public library organizations.

Recommendations on how to spend the TNRL’s grant money are planned to be brought to a TNRD Board meeting this spring but the criteria for usage will be to support local library service enhancement. The TNRD says that may include:

helping address shifting demands on services, collections, programs and spaces
responding to local service priorities
making services more accessible and inclusive
increasing climate readiness and resilience when facing future challenges
