KAMLOOPS — At its regular meeting Tuesday (April 11), Kamloops council will discuss a proposed ban on recreational drug use in city parks and public places.
Councillor Katie Neustaeter brought forward the motion at the March 28 meeting, noting it was being proposed in light of the province legalizing possession of small amounts of illicit substances.
The City of Kamloops banned smoking in public parks in 2016.
In her motion, Neustaeter says the ban on consumption of controlled substances in city facilities, parks and public places would be in line with bans on smoking and alcohol consumption.
