Kamloops Blazers blank Giants to take stranglehold on series
LANGLEY — If the Vancouver Giants thought home-ice advantage would turn around their WHL first-round series with the Kamloops Blazers, they were wrong. After pounding the Giants 8 – 0 and 6 – 1 in the opening two games in Kamloops, the Blazers picked up where they left off, blanking Vancouver 6 – 0 Tuesday (Apr. 4) in Langley.
Caedan Bankier had two goals and one assist while Dylan Ernst stopped 17 shots in the lopsided game. Jesper Vikman was peppered with 45 Kamloops shots in the Giants net.
The Blazers have outscored Vancouver 20 to 1 in the first three games of the series and have outshot the Giants 135 to 61.
