Tower construction in City Gardens project ahead of schedule
KAMLOOPS — Just over a year after they first broke ground, crews continue to work away at City Gardens, the 525-housing-unit project in downtown Kamloops. The current development that’s being worked on, Trillium Tower, was intially supposed to be complete by summer 2025. Twelve months after crews first broke ground, the 24-storey building’s completion date is ahead of schedule.
“Right now, our construction contractors are telling us it’s hopefully early 2025 that the first building will be open — so that’s been exciting,” said President of Kelson Group Property Management Jason Fawcett. “We have been working on the parkade. If anyone drives by the site you can see our big hole but the parkade is now 20 per cent complete,”
President of the Canadian Home Builders Association Central Interior Tom Calne says, in addition to City Gardens, the development of other housing projects is a positive sign for the city moving forward.
