No re-entry: Sandman Centre undergoes policy changes for ticketed events
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Blazers fans and concert-goers will need to finish their drinks, food or smokes before entering Sandman Centre going forward.
In a news release issued Friday (March 31), the City of Kamloops announced re-entry is no longer allowed at Sandman Centre during tickets events, including Blazers home games, effective immediately. Additionally, security at the front of the building will perform bag checks as outside food and drink is not allowed.
“If you plan on purchasing alcohol, please be sure you have the proper ID with you before you enter the building, as you will not be permitted to leave and return,” Sean Smith, Kamloops’ business operations and events supervisor, says. “We know that these changes will be impactful to some residents, but overall, we hope that the community will be respectful of these changes and of staff.
The city says the policy changes are meant to give added safety and security measures for spectators, assist in reducing ticket fraud and support staff in managing alcohol consumption.
