KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say they have located the body of a woman they believe to be Jo-Anne Donovan. Police are treating her death as a homicide. Cpl. Dave Marshall of the detachment’s serious crime unit says the woman’s body was found near her home on Wednesday (March 24).

An extensive forensic search of 57-year-old Donovan’s home has been done. Police will remain there until an autopsy is completed on the body. An autopsy is scheduled for March 28th.

Donovan was last seen near her home in Westsyde on March 13th.

“We embarked on an extensive investigation trying to timeline Jo-Anne to figure out who she was with and what she was up to. Unfortunately on March 22, we located her deceased and based on our initial assessment of that we believe a homicide has occurred,” said Staff Sergeant Todd Wiebe.

Wiebe couldn’t speak to any persons of interest in the case but did confirm that multiple search warrant have been executed.

“We have already conducted several interviews in this case, her friends, associates, people that she was close with. We have executed some search warrants as well, we have collected a lot of video evidence, surveillance from around the area. We have looked at cell phone records and stuff like that. We are still appealing to people,” stated Wiebe.
