SALMON ARM, B.C. — A long-haul truck driver from Salmon Arm, who considers himself to be a prankster, thought he was being set up for a joke when he saw his Set for Life ticket won $675,000.

According to British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Murray Wallace was travelling through Kamloops when he bought his ticket at the BDV Truck Shop on Kokanee Way. He was at Sutherland’s bakery in Enderby when he decided to validate his ticket.

“My first thought was, ‘Is this a joke?’” Wallace says. “I said, ‘Where are the cameras?’ I thought someone had to be pranking me because I am a big prankster myself and prank all of my friends and family. I scanned it on the self-checker and then it began flashing ‘winner’ so I started freaking out. At that point, people started gathering around and I wasn’t sure how much I’d won yet.”

Once he realized the prize amount, Wallace told his spouse.
