Blazers win fifth straight, defeat Silvertips 6-3

KAMLOOPS — 48 hours after their 7-1 victory in Everett on Wednesday (Mar.8), the Kamloops Blazers came out victorious once again on Friday (Mar.10) by defeating the Silvertips 6-3 at the Sandman Centre.

The first period showed signs of strong defence from both clubs until Jackson Berezowski broke the scoreless tie at 17:34, giving the Silvertips a 1-0 lead. Kamloops would strike back quickly however, as Olen Zellweger would score 35 seconds later to tie the game up heading into the first intermission.

Jackson Berezowski would give his club the lead once again in the second, scoring his 42nd of the year to put Everett up by one. Fraser Minten would fire one in the back of the net for the Blazers just over a minute later as both teams would be tied at two heading into the second intermission.

Minten would open the scoring in the third, tallying his second of the contest to give his team a 3-2 lead. The Silvertips however, were not giving up as Kyan Grouette would tie the game up at 6:36 of the frame.
