City of Kamloops receives $15M+ from province for infrastructure projects
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops and surrounding communities have received their pieces of the B.C. government’s $1 billion pie.
In a news release issued Friday (Mar. 3), the province announced the City of Kamloops will receive $15,692,000 from the Growing Communities Fund. The grant announced by Premier David Eby in early February is meant for projects such as road improvements, parks and trails, city facilities, childcare and rec centres, arenas, wastewater treatment plants, sewage upgrades and new home construction.
Previously, Kamloops Councillor Mike O’Reilly told CFJC Today he believes the city needs more land.
