Blazers forward Ryan Hofer signs NHL contract with Capitals

KAMLOOPS — A 20-year-old Kamloops Blazers forward has signed his National Hockey League (NHL) entry level deal.

In a news release issued Wednesday (March 1), the Washington Capitals announced they signed forward Ryan Hofer to a three-year deal that would pay the Blazers forward $851,666.71 in the NHL and $82,500 in the American Hockey League.

The Capitals selected Hofer in the sixth round (181st overall) in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Hofer has 58 points (36 goals and 22 assists) in 53 games in the 2022-23 Western Hockey League season, 22 of those points (13 goals and nine assists) in 17 games with the Blazers since being acquired in a mega deal in January.

Hofer and the Blazers return to Sandman Centre on Friday (March 3) to host the Kelowna Rockets.
