Blazers win 11th straight, defeat Hurricanes 6-2
LETHBRIDGE, A.B. — The win streak continues to stay alive as the Kamloops win their 11th consecutive game in Lethbridge Friday (Feb.24), defeating the Hurricanes 6-2.
Logan Stankoven opened the scoring early in the second period, tallying his 29th on the season to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead. The Hurricanes would answer back two minutes later thanks to Tyson Zimmer who would score his 15th on the year. Lethbridge would not stop there, adding another later in the period to put themselves up 2-1.
Fraser Minten would get on the board for the Blazers to ultimately tie the game heading into the second intermission.
And then the floodgates opened up in the third for Kamloops, scoring five unanswered goals including the game winner at 9:53 courtesy of Olen Zellweger as the Blazers sit 38-10-4-2 on the season.
