“I think we are close, not quite there yet. But, I know that we got a feeling out there of what the ice will be like to continue. I think we will have a real good handle on it,” added Einarson.

Rachel Homan is also a three-time champion at the Scotties, but her most recent win came back in 2017. This season, the Homan rink added Tracey Fluery, a move that has paid dividends.

“We knew on paper that it was a really strong lineup, but there are lots of strong lineups on paper and you need to put it all together. We are a new team, so we are still learning and figuring out all the tweaks we have to make. It’s going really good,” said Homan.

After starting the tournament 2-and-2, the Homan rink was able to rattle off three straight wins to secure a spot in the playoffs.

“I think this the strongest field we have ever had, that I have ever seen. It’s awesome to go out there and have to play your best every game. That’s what a nationals should be and that’s where we are at right now. It’s awesome for Canada,” said Homan.

Still all roads to a championship will likely run through a potentially undefeated team Canada and Einarson.

“I feel really good. Everyone is throwing them really well and so am I. It’s just figuring out that kick speed,” said Einarson.

Team Canada plays their final round robin game Thursday night versus Nunavut at 6:30 p.m.
