Nicola Valley Hospital emergency room closed Tuesday

MERRITT, B.C. — The emergency department in Merritt will be closed once again Tuesday (Feb. 21).

In a news release, Interior Health says the Nicola Valley Hospital emergency room is closed as of 8 a.m. Tuesday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 22).

The closure decision was made due to limited nursing availability. Normally, Interior Health says the emergency room in Merritt is open 24/7.
