Exhibit on the history of mountain biking in Kamloops opening at the museum
KAMLOOPS — An exhibit on the history of mountain biking in Kamloops is set to open on Friday (Feb. 24).
In a news release, the City of Kamloops says “Mountain Bike Mecca” will open at the Kamloops Museum and Archives with a reception on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. featuring a brief speech by Brett Tippie, one of Kamloops’ earliest and well-known mountain bikers.
Through photographs, video and stories, the city says Mountain Bike Mecca will explore mountain biking’s history and relation to landscape in the Kamloops area. The exhibit will also invite visitors and local riders to share their knowledge and experiences of mountain biking in Kamloops.
Additionally, the Kamloops Museum and Archives will host a series of activities in connection with Mountain Bike Mecca, including a panel discussion, a heritage bike tour, and bicycle crafts for families.
