TRU Men’s volleyball fail to win in season finale against Thunderbirds

KAMLOOPS — The TRU Wolfpack men’s volleyball had a better performance in Saturday’s (Feb.18) rematch against the UBC Thunderbirds but were unable to secure a win as the Thunderbirds complete the weekend sweep with a 3-1 victory.

The opening set saw both teams exchange points back and forth. However, the Thunderbirds would claim the set 25-21.

The second set was no different for UBC, putting up 25 points once more to TRU’s 19 to go up 2-0.

The Wolfpack came out with a stronger performance in the third, claiming the set 25-20 with the help of Sam Flowerday who led the team with 14 points.

TRU took the Thunderbirds the distance in the fourth but the consistency of UBC was the deciding factor in the club taking the set 25-21 and winning the match 3-1 to conclude the 2022-2023 regular season.
