Merritt emergency room to close Friday night

MERRITT, B.C. — The emergency department in Merritt will be closed once again Friday night (Feb. 17).

In a news release, Interior Health says the Nicola Valley Hospital E.R. will close as of 6:30 p.m. Friday, reopening at 8:00 a.m. Saturday.

The closure decision was made due to limited nursing availability.

Anyone in the Merritt area requiring emergency care is advised to call 9-1-1 or visit the emergency departments in Kamloops or Kelowna.
