Four sent to hospital after two-vehicle fire on Highway 1 near Monte Creek

KAMLOOPS — Four patients were sent to hospital after a two-vehicle fire on Highway 1 east of Kamloops Wednesday (Feb. 15) night.

B.C. Emergency Health Services told CFJC Today they received the report of the fire near Monte Creek at 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Four ambulances responded and sent two patients to hospital in critical condition and two to hospital with minor injuries.

DriveBC reported that the westbound lanes of Highway 1 between the Highway 97 on and off ramps were closed due to the fire. It announced the highway reopened after 2:00 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 16).
