Former Blazers goalie Connor Ingram sets NHL record in first career shutout with Coyotes
TEMPE, AZ — A Kamloops Blazers alumnus set a National Hockey League (NHL) record Wednesday (Feb. 15) night.
Connor Ingram, who spent three seasons as the Blazers’ starting goaltender from 2014-15 to 2016-17, made 47 saves for his first career NHL shutout in the Arizona Coyotes’ 1-0 shootout win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ingram holds the record for most saves recorded in a player’s first NHL shutout.
Ingram was originally selected by the Lightning in the third round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2019 prior to suiting up for the Lightning in the regular season. He played three regular season games and four playoff games for the Predators in 2022 prior to being claimed off waivers ahead of the 2022-23 NHL season.
