Seminoff scores late in the 3rd as Blazers win six straight
KAMLOOPS — It was a dramatic finish at the Sandman Centre Saturday (Feb.11) as the Kamloops Blazers snapped the Prince George Cougars five game win streak by a 5-4 score. Matthew Seminoff was the hero for the Blazers, scoring with eight seconds left in the third period.
Seminoff opened the scoring in the first period, scoring the first of his two goals in the contest. Logan Stankoven recorded an assist on the marker, extending his point streak to 34 games. Fraser Minten would also get on the board for the Blazers, scoring his 25th of the season to make it 2-0 just past the five minute mark of the first period.
The Cougars would respond three minutes later short-handed as Cole Dubinsky would find the back of the net, scoring his fourth goal in as many nights to cut the Blazers lead in half. Ondrej Becher would tie things up in early in the second period, erasing the Blazers’ two goal lead.
Both teams would score a goal each after that before the red hot Ryan Hofer gets his 33rd of the campaign near the midway point of the third period. Hofer now has six goals in his last five games.
