Temperatures in January drier than usual in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Despite cold weather and snow at times last month, the city of Kamloops saw drier than normal monthly averages, according to Environment Canada.
Temperatures in January were warmer than average at 3.5 degrees. However, the precipitation was drier than usual at 33 % of what Kamloops would normally receive.
“I know it sounds both drier and warmer, but it doesn’t make it to the top 10 rankings over the history of weather records we have,” said Environment of Canada Meteorologist Derek Lee.
The average amount of precipitation in the month of January is 21 mm. However, last month only saw 7 mm. In addition, Lee states there were four days that temperatures did not climb above zero degrees as a daytime high.
