Snowfall warning issued for Coquihalla Highway south of Merritt
Feb 9, 2023 | 5:17 PM
MERRITT, B.C. — Mother Nature is targeting the Coquihalla Highway again. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the stretch of highway between Merritt and Hope.
It suggests further snow accumulations of around 15-25 cm of snow could lead to difficult driving conditions on the high-mountain highway.
Environment Canada says a cold air front will bring heavy snow tonight. The snow will begin this evening and ease early Friday morning.
It says rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations while reducing visibility suddenly at times.
