MLA Stone finds little for Kamloops in government’s throne speech

Feb 7, 2023 | 4:16 PM

KAMLOOPS — B.C.’s lieutenant governor delivered the annual throne speech outlining the NDP’s goals and ambitions for the upcoming year Monday (Feb. 6). It addressed Issues ranging from homelessness to housing to hospitals. Local B.C. Liberal MLAs, however, are skeptical about how much of this will be completed.

Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone feels the government’s plan to tackle the rising cost of living, housing, health care, safety and climate change are more of the same promises without effective solutions.

“We heard the government for the sixth year in a row talk about the exact same challenges that have been affecting British Columbians over the past six years, and the problem is that the results by every measure for all of these challenges are getting worse and worse and worse.” Stone states.
