KAMLOOPS – It’s been over a year since the body of a Sa-Hali Secondary School student was found in a parking lot on the Tk’emlups reserve, and the case remains unsolved.

Mounties say on January 29, 2022, at about 8:00 a.m., the body of 18-year-old Jagraj Dhinsa was found with obvious injuries.

Investigators confirmed Dhinsa was the victim of a homicide and looked to the public for any information surrounding his death.

As of yet, no arrests have been made in relation to his death, but police say the investigation is still ongoing.

“I know sometimes people see a lot of police activity in the beginning that’s very visual, and they think maybe the investigation has stopped after that. Well, it hasn’t,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn told CFJC News. “It is ongoing and there are investigators to continue to progress it.”

According to police, evidence found at the scene linked Dhinsa to a black 2014 Honda Accord found on Dallas Drive near Lafarge Road, and anyone with information on Dhinsa’s death or the car is asked to come forward once again.

“If anyone was reluctant at the time and they didn’t come forth and share information that they may have had that’s related to the ongoing investigation, it’s not too late to do so,” Evelyn said.

“Maybe at the time someone was too shocked to share the information and couldn’t have believed what would have happened or was reluctant for any other reason. The investigation is still ongoing and it’s important for his family and the course of the investigation to find out exactly what did happen.”

Anyone with further information to assist investigators is asked to call the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit at 1 (877) 987-8477.
