Hofer scores 3, including game winner, as Blazers defeat Raiders
KAMLOOPS — It was a back and forth battle between the two teams, but it was the Kamloops Blazers who came out on top in a 6-4 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders Friday evening (Feb. 3) at Sandman Centre.
The Blazers got off to a strong start, scoring two goals within the first six minutes thanks to Connor Levis and Ryan Hofer, but the Raiders fired back with goals of their own, scoring three straight in the first period and making it a 3-2 game.
Midway through the second period, Hofer would tie the game up at three, scoring his second of the night shorthanded. However, the Raiders would re-take their lead back 17 seconds later as Brayden Dube tallied his fourth of the year to make it 4-3.
It was all Blazers from there as the club would score three straight, including the game winner in the third period by Hofer who completed the hat-trick on the night. Caedan Bankier would score the insurance marker to make it 6-4. Blazers Captain Logan Stankoven would get an assist on Bankier’s goal, extending his point streak to 31 games, which makes it the longest active streak in the WHL.
