Homan and Jones to headline the field at the 2023 Scotties in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Curling fans in Kamloops can look forward to watching some of the heavyweights in womens curling when the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts opens next month at Sandman Centre.

Ontario’s Rachel Homan will be making her ninth appearance at the Canadian Women’s Curling championship after claiming her provincial title Sunday afternoon. Homan will be throwing fourth stones but has turned over the skipping duties to Tracy Fleury, a five-time veteran of the Scotties. Homan has won the Scotties three times. She has one world title an an Olympic berth to her name.

Meantime Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones is headed back to the Scotties. The trip to Kamloops will mark her seventeenth visit to the championship. She’s won the title six times, a world championship twice and an Olympic Gold in Sochi in 2014.

2022 champion Kerri Einarson will also be back in Canadian colours to defend her title.
